Painting 'The Reaper King'

This is a time-lapse for a Magic card I painted a couple of years back, something I was meaning to post on my old site but never got around to it. If there's any interest in this sort of thing I'll post some more recent vids.

 This was done in one sitting and took about five hours start to finish. Mostly acrylics with a bit of gouache (apologies for the dodgy video quality.)

      I mostly use those FW acrylic inks, or nowadays Liquitex also make some good inks.

      Out of curiosity, do you mostly just stick to traditional media or do you do a mixture of digital and traditional now? I really love your backgrounds, especially in the Dota 2 comic.

    Here Here! I enjoy watching you build your paintings layer by layer. Would love to see Pentarch Paladin time lapse. Well just about any of your paintings really. But that one is a fave. Oh and WOW Dark Elf - yummy!

    Beautifully done! Thanks for posting it up. So that was all FW Inks then? It looked like watercolour to start and then I wondered how did you bring the contrast and light into it so well. Are they easy to use and layer? I'm not familiar with the inks so will google them. :)

    I am looking to buy an artist proof of the Reaper King for my commander deck. I already have one that is foil, but a signed artist proof would be even better. Do you have any of them left? If not, do you accept cards in the mail for signatures? Btw, one of my favorite art pieces in Magic. Best looking scarecrow I've seen, it's unique and macabre. Thanks!
